I love New York City. Kim and I spent the weekend up there with Dave and Olena, who are bound for Syracuse in two weeks. In just one day (Saturday) we had Astoria’s finest meat-on-a-stick (at 37th and Ditmars), ate some breakfast at a Greek diner (Mike’s in Astoria), perused $100,000 bills at the Worlds Fair of Money (Marquis Marriott), drank in a large collection of Paul Gaugin’s works (the Met), wined and dined at the French Culinary Institute’s student-run restaurant (L’Ecole), grooved to some truly good jazz (Small’s), and dragged our butts back up to Astoria for a nightcap and conversation. We didn’t even get started until 11:30 in the morning! Kim will have all of the pics up soon, I’m sure, but here’s my favorite shot of the weekend.
